Philadelphia Phillies Have Seven in MLB Network Top 100 Players, Including #2 Overall Player

MLB Network just released a five-part series revealing its top 100 players in baseball.

It should come as no surprise to anybody that St Louis Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols topped the list.

Seven different Phillies players found their way on the list.

Reigning National League Cy Young winner Roy Halladay was selected as the second best player (and the number one pitcher).

Power hitting first baseman Ryan Howard ranked 25th. All-around second baseman Chase Utley followed Howard at 26th. Starting pitcher Cliff Lee ranked 31st. Number three starter Roy Oswalt is 51st. Fourth starter Cole Hamels is 71st. And center fielder Shane Victorino is 82nd.

MLB Network said that shortstop Jimmy Rollins would have made the list if not for suffering through an injury-prone season in 2010.
