Dunn Not in Lineup for White Sox Home Opener

Adam Dunn insisted he didn’t want to miss the team’s home opener against the Tampa Bay Rays, but Manager Ozzie Guillen seems to be playing it safe.

Two days after an emergency appendectomy, Dunn will be sitting on the bench as Carlos Quentin fills his spot at DH. Brent Lillibridge will get the start in RF after the announcement this morning that Lastings Milledge was demoted to AAA.

Considering Dunn has declared himself ready to play, there’s a chance he could be available to pinch hit today. What’s more likely, however, is that Dunn will make his return to the lineup at some point this weekend.

Today’s Lineup:

1. Pierre, LF
2. Beckham, 2B
3. Rios, CF
4. Konerko, 1B
5. Quentin, DH
6. Ramirez, SS
7. Pierzynski, C
8. Morel, 3B
9. Lillibridge, RF

Edwin Jackson will take the mound for the 1:10 CST start.
