Oakland A’s Win Big Series Against Texas Rangers

With a walk off home run in the tenth inning, by Hideki Matsui, the Oakland A’s take 3 out of 4 from the Texas Rangers. This is significant because it puts the A’s only a half game behind the first place Rangers. Granted the A’s will have to wait and see what the LA Angels do tonight. If they win they will be alone in first place.

The A’s have been extremely scrappy so far this season. They are not playing their best ball, especially offensively and defensively, but they are keeping pace with the Angels and the Rangers. If the A’s can keep this pace until their hitting starts to click big things will be in their future.

I am still pretty convinced that Billy Beane is going to have to make a move to shore up their line up. All in all I am very happy with the season. I hope the A’s use this big series win to build upon for the rest of the season.
