Recaps of San Francisco Giants' Recent Sweeps

The San Francisco Giants have swept their last three home series and last on the road, as metioned here. Here you can read my recaps of most of those wins in one place.

First, they beat the Colorado Rockies May 6-8.

Game 1: Winning Pitcher- Brian Wilson, Losing Pitcher- Felipe Paulino; On Willie Mays’s 80th birthday, the Giants won on a walk-off single by Freddy Sanchez.

Game 2: Winning Pitcher– Wilson, Losing Pitcher– Paulino; San Francisco got another walk-off, this one by Mike Fontenot.

Game 3: Winning Pitcher- Ryan Vogelsong, Losing Pitcher– Jorge De La Rosa; Vogelsong and Cody Ross led the Giants to victory.

San Francisco Giants Shut Out, Sweep Colorado Rockies

San Francisco’s next victim was the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Game 1: Winning Pitcher– Wilson, Losing Pitcher– David Hernandez; A pitching duel between Tim Lincecum and Ian Kennedy preceded a Ross walk-off.

Game 2: Winning Pitcher– Jonathan Sanchez, Losing Pitcher– Armando Galarraga; The Giants were down 3-0 before ultimately pulling out a 4-3 win.

San Francisco Giants Come Back, End on Torture

I do not have a recap of their third win, but the final score was 3-2. (Winning Pitcher– Matt Cain, Losing Pitcher- Daniel Hudson)

San Francisco completed a road trip with a quick two-game sweep of the hated rival Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

Game 1: Winning Pitcher– Wilson, Losing Pitcher- Lance Cormier

Game 2: Winning Pitcher– Madison Bumgarner, Losing Pitcher– Chad Billingsley; Bumgarner came into this contest with an 0-6 record.

Finally, the Giants beat the Oakland Athletics in three straight in the first series of Interleague play.

Game 1: Winning Pitcher– Javier Lopez, Losing Pitcher– Brian Fuentes; Aubrey Huff delivered a walk-off base hit in the tenth.

Game 2: Winning Pitcher– Tim Lincecum, Losing Pitcher– Brett Anderson; Lincecum tossed his second career shutout versus Oakland.

Game 3: Winning Pitcher– Sergio Romo, Losing Pitcher– Fuentes; This win tied the Giants with the Kansas City Royals for most walk-off victories in the majors. The primary heroes were Nate Schierholtz and Emmanuel Burriss.
