.500 Was Good While It Lasted

Well, so much for that .500 record. No sooner does Oriole Township (is the fan base big enough to constitute a “nation”?) celebrate a recent surge than the club promptly drops four in a row to the A’s and the woeful Seattle Mariners, knocking it back to 24-28. The team left 28 men on base during the series, saw Zach Britton throw his worst game in the big leagues and, in an act of mercy, optioned Brad Bergesen and Chris Tillman to the minors.

On the bright side (?), Alfredo Simon continues to pitch well in his furlough from criminal prosecution return to the big leagues.

Anyway, the West Coast trip continues with the remainder of this 3-game set with the Mariners. Hopefully for Oriole Township, Buck was able to fish out the key to baseball on his way up to Seattle.
