A’s Free Fall Continues – Will Bob Geren Last Through the Weekend?
Things are not looking good for the Oakland A’s. Losers of eight straight, the A’s find themselves seven games out of first place and in the cellar of the American League West.
To make matters worse, one of their aces, Brett Anderson, may be lost for the year and joins starters Tyson Ross, Dallas Braden, and Brandon McCarthy on the DL.
The offense continues to be abysmal and despite sending struggling starter, Kevin Kouzmanoff to the minors, other starters such as DH Hideki Matsui is batting .209, first baseman Daric Barton sits at .221, and second baseman, Mark Ellis, batting .211 has been sent to the DL as well.
Injuries cannot be avoided, but Bob Geren is quickly losing this team and current and former players are using the media to talk about how poor his communication is.
If the A’s can’t turn this around quickly, I would guess we’ll see some more roster changes and perhaps a change in manager, not to mention the A’s quickly becoming sellers come trading deadline.
How did it all go wrong so quickly?
