Sox Reach Agreement With Keenyn Walker
It appears that the White Sox have reached an agreement with their first round pick Keenyn Walker. According to Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune, the signing will become official by next Tuesday after Walker passes a physical.
With the way technology works in this day in age, this news was “announced” by Walker himself very early this morning. Walker posted on his facebook and twitter page: “Ya buddy! Finally becoming a part of the Chicago White Sox family!!” Walker was obviously excited after the past 2 years being drafted by the Phillies and Cubs but not being able to reach an agreement with those teams. Walker will report to Montana where the White Sox hold their short-season. Many compare the switch-hitting, center fielder to the same type of player as Jarred Mitchell: good gap power with above-average speed. Hopefully Walker can keep himself healthy and develop quickly into an MLB player.
