No surprise here, but Cliff Lee was named the National League Pitcher of the Month for June after completing one of the greatest months in the history of the game.
Lee won all five of his decisions. In addition to going 5-0, he allowed just one earned run in 42 innings for an ERA of 0.21. He became the first major league pitcher to throw three consecutive shutouts since Brandon Webb in 2007 and the first Phillie to pull off the feat since Robin Roberts in 1950.
Lee beat out Pittsburgh Pirates closer Joel Hanrahan and Washington Nationals starter Jordan Zimmerman for the award.
