Team President Dave Montgomery Says Philadelphia Phillies Will Do “Whatever it Takes”

By Cody Swartz

Team president Dave Montgomery told The Philadelphia Inquirer that the Philadelphia Phillies will do “whatever it takes” to win. He said that the team will make adjustments given the opportunity.

Initially, GM Ruben Amaro, Jr. told the media that the Phillies will not be making a major roster move before the trade deadline, but manager Charlie Manuel has openly said he would like a right-handed bat to help the offense. The Phillies have been linked to numerous hitters, including Hunter Pence, Carlos Beltran, and B.J. Upton, while they have also been linked to big-name relievers like Joakim Soria, Heath Bell, and Mike Adams.
