Tim Lincecum, Aubrey Huff and Carlos Beltran all got a bit dinged up in the San Francisco Giants’ win over the Philadelphia Phillies today.
On a swing in the eighth, Chase Utley’s bat went flying from his hands, clipping Lincecum on the knee.
The trainer came out to check on him. Lincecum was allowed to throw a practice pitch, which was obviously enough to convince the trainer he was fine.
Also coming out was Utley, who told Lincecum, ““Hey, sorry, you have to know that wasn’t on purpose,” according to Andrew Baggarly of the Mercury News.
Baggarly also reported Lincecum had iced his knee but was walking normally.
Huff was showing grabbing his hamstring after stealing second in the seventh, but it was because he was hit by the ball.
He is fine and scheduled to start tomorrow.
Beltran hurt his right wrist on a swing in the sixth. He reportedly feels pain and weakness in the hand. X-rays were negative.
He did not come out to play defense in the eighth. Nate Schierholtz moved from left to right and Aaron Rowand took over in left.
It is uncertain whether or not he will play tomorrow.
