Houston Astros Acquire Final Prospect in Hunter Pence Trade

By Cody Swartz

When the Philadelphia Phillies acquired Hunter Pence from the Houston Astros, they traded away top prospects Jonathan Singleton and Jarred Cosart, along with pitcher Josh Zeid and a player to be named later.

It turns out the player to be named later is outfielder Domingo Santana, a class-A player who was rated as the 14th best prospect in the Phillies organization before the season. Santana just turned 19 years old, and put up a .269 batting average in 96 games with the Lakewood BlueClaws. He rates as a plus fielder and an above-average baserunner.
