Shelby Miller is back
Springfield, MO – St. Louis Cardinals #1 prospect, RHP Shelby Miller, is back from suspension and will start for AA Springfield tonight. Miller had been suspended since August 16th due to “violations of team policy.”
According to sources, there was an altercation at a Springfield apartment complex and alcohol was involved. Sources have also said this is the 2nd incident involving Miller, the 20 year old from Texas. Miller has started 13 games since his move to AA Springfield…and Shelby has continued to dominate at every level in the minors. He is 7-3 with a 2.97 ERA in 69 2/3 innings pitched, with 71 strike outs and 27 walks.
Hopefully the 3rd time is the charm for the kid…and hopefully he can get his life in order off the field – because obviously, he has it together on. Maybe if Shelby can act a little more like his Big League Manager…uh…wait a minute!
