Dickey, Mets slow down Marlins bats

By Ryan Gaydos

The knuckle ball pitcher R.A. Dickey and the New York Mets were able to hold off the Marlins for the 2-1 victory in the first game of the double header Monday.

Dickey collected his first victory in more than a month as he improved to 6-11 as he walked one batter in seven innings of work.

Anibal Sanchez collected his seventh loss of the season as Justin Turner and Josh Thole both drove in the Mets’ only two runs of the game.

Florida’s loss snapped the team’s six-game winning streak at Citi Field.
