This is nothing more than some premature speculation, but at this point in the New York Mets’ season what else are we going to do? The real problem here is that things could very easily get worse for the New York Mets before they get better. I’m talking about finishing dead last in the National League East next season. We already know the Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves are going to be the favorites to lead the division. It will be the Washington Nationals and the Florida Marlins that ultimately confine the New York Mets to the division’s crawl space. With the Washington Nationals’ developing young core and the Florida Marlins talking about spending big money on free agents this winter, its looking like the New York Mets could be left in the dust in 2012. Luckily, as I mentioned above, this is just some premature speculation.
