Magglio Ordonez out for season
Detroit Tigers outfielder Magglio Ordonez will need season-ending ankle surgery to repair his broken right ankle which has been hampering him most of his career which led to him almost retiring earlier this season. Ordonez will be removed from the ALCS roster and be replaced by Delmon Young who helped knock the Yankees out of the playoffs last week.
Ordonez re-broke his right ankle and was removed from the ALCS roster on Sunday. He has produced a .309/.369/.502 line, 294 home runs and 1,236 RBI in 7,742 plate appearances over 15 seasons between the White Sox and Tigers. If this injury has any impact on him next season, he will retire.
