Dallas Mavericks' Tyson Chandler Tells Texas Rangers to Wear All Black to World Series Game 6

By Jeric Griffin

Dallas Mavericks center Tyson Chandler joined ESPN Dallas’ Ben & Skin Show on Thursday with some advice for the Texas Rangers. Game 6 of the World Series between the Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals will be played Thursday night, weather permitting. Chandler’s Mavericks won the 2011 NBA Championship in June in a similar fashion to the way the Rangers are chasing the World Series trophy. Chandler said the Rangers should approach Game 6 just like the Mavericks did.

“I hope the Rangers took mine and Dirk’s advice and wore all black cause you’re going to a funeral,” Chandler said.

Chandler and Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki both wore black to their Game 6 against the Miami Heat on the road in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. As Chandler said, it represented “the end” of the Heat’s season, a figurative sports funeral.

Whether any Rangers players actually do wear black to Game 6 is unknown. Nowitzki already tweeted he thinks the Rangers will win Game 6, telling his baseball counterparts to only bring one suit to St. Louis. The Rangers take on the Cardinals for the title at 7:05 p.m. Thursday at Busch Stadium.
