Josh Byrnes Takes Over as the San Diego Padres GM

By Living Baseball

It’s official, Josh Brynes has taken over as GM for the San Diego Padres because Jed Hoyer dashed for greener pastures with the Chicago Cubs. I think this is a good move for the Padres because Brynes has proven to be successful as a GM. Unfortunately, his biggest mistakes were magnified in a smaller market with the Diamondbacks and ultimately cost him his job.

Josh Byrnes should be able to start to turn around a franchise that once was a top of the national league. It’ll be interesting to see how Byrnes turns the team around with a poor payroll, but he’s very capable of doing so. The Padres have a very good baseball man running the shit now.
