Terry Francona interviewed down in St. Louis to potentially manage the St. Louis Cardinals in 2012. I think it’s safe to say he’s the front runner if he truly wants to manage in 2012…somewhere. Terry Francona is an outstanding field general that has demanded the respect of his players. I believe the problems he ran into in Boston was due to the players mishaps…and not Francona’s.
Terry Francona would immediately bring a “swag” to St. Louis replacing a legend with 2 world series of his own. It’s clear that Francona can manage, but will Francona be enough to get Albert Pujols to stay? Will Francona wait until Albert Pujols makes a decision on his future?
I think it would be an outstanding decision for the Cardinals to bring in a manager like Terry Francona because the defending champs will immediately have a manager that’s been there done that….and will command the respect of the locker room.
