What a day for the Angels, first Pujols, now Wilson. As I predicted, with the help of @ incarceratedbob, the Angels have signed CJ Wilson on a 5-year deal. The Wilson negotiations was like a game of Tennis. One hour the Angels had the lead, then the next hour the Marlins. Angels or Marlins, Angels or Marlins, Angels or Marlins, Finkle and Einhorn, Finkle and Einhorn! The back and forth finally stopped with the Angels taking away the ace of the Texas Rangers.

Wilson will fit in perfectly on the Angels. He is a hometown boy that grew up fifteen minutes from the ballpark. Wilson slide in nicely between the two-headed monster that is Jered Weaver and Dan Haren. The three of them were in the Top 10 among Major League starters for WAR in 2011. Not even the Phillies could say that.

Angels also agreed to terms with right-handed reliever, LaTroy Hawkins. It’s been a busy and hectic off-season already for rookie GM, Jon Morosi. Last week, the Angels acquired Chris Iannetta from the Rockies in exchange for Tyler Chatwood. With Pujols, Wilson, Iannetta, and Hawkins, the Angels are ready to regain the throne in the American League West.
