New York Mets’ R.A. Dickey to Climb Mount Kilimanjaro
Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro would be a pretty damn cool thing to add to your life resume. There aren’t many people who would even be willing to follow through with a challenge of that magnitude – let alone be able to physically accomplish it. With that said, R.A. Dickey’s journey up that mountain will not directly lead to more tallies in the win column for the New York Mets. Sure, R.A. Dickey could look back on this experience when he finds himself in some tight jams on the mound, but that is not going to make his knuckleball dance any more than usual. I don’t want to come across as a killjoy, but I would really prefer the players on my team(s) to refrain from doing dangerous things like climbing 19,000 foot mountains in the off-season. Obviously we all hope that R.A. Dickey gets up and down in one piece, but in the case he suffers some sort of injury the New York Mets can void his contract. Again, hopefully it doesn’t come to this, but it is nice to know that the New York Mets are protected in this case.
