Jon Heyman of CBS is reporting that Manny Ramirez has reached a deal with the Oakland A’s. It will be a one year deal minor league deal worth $500,000.
This seems to be a low risk investment for the A’s because they are paying Ramirez close to the league minimum and have not guaranteed him a spot on the big league club. And even though he will need to serve a 50 game suspension at the beginning of the season I would think that he would have a spot on the Oakland A team and can produce well above his pay grade. It seems as though this could also serve as an insurance policy if Yoenis Cespedes fails to produce at the Major League level.
Oakland look out because Manny is coming your way.
