Philadelphia Phillies OF Shane Victorino Seeking Five-Year Deal

By Ryan Gaydos

The Philadelphia Phillies are going to come to two possible ends this season. The first with 2008 World Series MVP Cole Hamels and the second is with their long-time center fielder Shane Victorino.

According to MLB.com’s Todd Zolecki, Victorino is seeking a five-year contract from the Phillies this season before he enters free agency.

The 31-year-old Victorino is expecting him and the Phillies to talk about an extension during Spring Training and possibly carry the talks into the season. He batted .275 last year with Philadelphia and will be coming off a three-year, $22 million deal with the team.
