Vance Worley Throws Four Dominating Innings in Spring Training Win
It’s only spring training, but Monday’s outing against the Pittsburgh Pirates was a good sign for Philadelphia Phillies fans concerned that Vance Worley had a fluke year as a rookie in 2011.
Worley threw four perfect innings, striking out eight batters. It was arguably the pitching performance of the spring so far, and is a good sign for a team that is counting on Worley to be their fourth starter heading into 2012.
Last year, Worley was 11-3 with a 3.01 ERA for the Phillies after beginning the season with the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs.
