It was 5-1 Mets and Bay hit a solo homerun in the ninth to make it 6-1 and that was the final score.
The Mets have now won the first four meetings of the season against the Braves. The Mets are 7-3 on the season and the Braves are 5-5. The two teams will play game two of their three game series tomorrow night.
The Mets have won seven out of their first 10 games. This is a suprise to many especially the Mets fans who were all gloom and doom before the season. Will the Mets be a good team this year?? Will the Mets be a contender or a playoff team this year?? I am not sure I can answer those questions but my best guess would be no. You can say but look at them now, it is only 10 games but why are they winning. It is mainly because of their pitching. They are getting good starting pitching and good pitching out of the bullpen. If you get pitching you will have a chance just about every night. The Mets are also hitting and guys like Jason Bay and Ike Davis aren’t. Davis has picked it up in the last couple of games. The Mets lost Jose Reyes but Ruben Tejada is doing a nice job so far.
In the end will the Mets be a special team, I would say probably not. Will they be a playoff team, I would say no but maybe just maybe they will suprise and at the very least be in contention for most of this season.
