Byron Buxton fell to number 2 and was selected by the Minnesota Twins. The Twins were obviously very excited that this happened as many had Buxton as the number 1 rated player in the draft.
The Twins haven’t had a high school outfielder work out since Torii Hunter so this in a sense is a little risky. However, many believe Buxton’s tools transition really well to the MLB and has drawn comparisons to virtually ever big named outfielder known to man.
When Carlos Correa went number 1 to the Houston Astros, this pick didn’t surprise me what so ever.
I think the Twins got a top player in the draft so I think their fan base should be very excited over this one. He’s got some growing to do, but frankly- I think he’s going to exceed expectations pretty quickly.
