Milwaukee Brewers Lineup Against Chicago Cubs Game 2

The Milwaukee Brewers must figure out a way to bounce back after an embarrassing 10-0 loss to the Chicago Cubs Tuesday night.

Ryan Dempster recorded his first win of the season, which is something I predicted he could most definitely do considering how he typically dominates the Brewers. He went seven solid innings without giving up a run as Milwaukee was only able to muster three hits off him. Yovani Gallardo on the other hand got blown up once again as he surrendered five earned runs on six hits through six innings pitched.

The good news is the Brewers will send Zack Greinke to the mound to hopefully right the ship. Chicago’s Paul Maholm got blasted by Milwaukee the last time these two teams met, although, the lineup is rather different than the last one he faced.

Aramis Ramirez will miss his third consecutive game with a left quadriceps strain, which means Corey Hart will be batting cleanup once again and will be manning first base.

The following is the Brewers lineup against the Cubs for Wednesday night:

Center Field: Carlos Gomez
Right Field: Norichika Aoki
Left Field: Ryan Braun
First Base: Corey Hart
Second Base: Rickie Weeks
Shortstop: Cody Ransom
Third Base: Brooks Conrad
Catcher: Martin Maldonado
Pitcher: Zack Greinke

Three of the four players who recorded hits last night (Carlos Gomez, Ryan Braun and Cody Ransom) will remain in the lineup for Wednesday’s matchup. Ransom has been relatively productive since joining the Brewers as he seems to get hits when they matter most. Since coming to Milwaukee he is batting .200 but has five runs batted in off of six hits. However, he has struck out 15 times in 30 plate appearances, something Ron Roenicke would like to see improved.

The rest of the team can improve their at-bats as well as the team is tied for fourth in the National League in strikeouts (443) and 14th in batting average (.238).
