Milwaukee Brewers Lineup Against Kansas City Royals

The Milwaukee Brewers will be matching up against the Kansas City Royals for a three-game interleague series in which several former players will get a chance to face their old team.

Milwaukee’s Zack Greinke is the one getting the major headlines, as he will take the mound as a visitor for the first time in the city in which he got his major league start. Greinke was drafted by Kansas City and won his 2009 Cy Young Award with the Royals. It may be a little weird at first for the right-handed pitcher but he did admit it will be good to be back in Kansas City, even if it is only for three days.

“I don’t think I’ve been back since [being traded],” Greinke said. “It will be nice to see the city, and the fans were always really good to me. I don’t know how they’ll be when I go back, but while I was there, they were great to me. I could never say anything bad about them — ever.”

Other former players who will be facing their old teams are Yuniesky Betancourt and Alcides Escobar.

The following is the Brewers lineup against the Royals:

First Base: Corey Hart
Right Field: Norichika Aoki
Left Field: Ryan Braun
Third Base: Aramis Ramirez
Designated Hitter: Taylor Green
Second Base: Rickie Weeks
Shortstop: Cody Ransom
Catcher: Martin Maldonado
Center Field: Nyjer Morgan

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke has stated he plans on spreading the designated hitter spot around to a few people. Roenicke has decided to go with Taylor Green Tuesday night, who will get his first career start at DH.

Considering Milwaukee is only four and a half games out of first place in the National League Central division it is imperative they take full advantage of their opportunity in Kansas City and record their second sweep of the season. The Brewers will get a good chance to start the series off on the right foot, as Greinke will most likely have an outing for the ages against his former team.
