MLB Rumors: Are the Brewers Going To Trade Zack Greinke?
Zack Greinke has been through the trade rumors before, and this year is going to be no different as the Milwaukee Brewers continue to fall in the standings. Greinke is going to be a free agent in 2013, which makes him a very attractive trade piece for a team in the running. I’m a little surprised the Brewers have fallen the way they have post Prince Fielder, but it’s time to get better, and younger. After shedding the farm system to get Greinke and CC Sabathia, it’s time to start building it back up.
There would be a million teams on Greinke so it really just depends on who will give up the most, and who wouldn’t want him? Greinke is a hard throwing right hander that will anchor any rotation. I don’t buy the whole anxiety thing in a big city, so I think that keeps teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees in play. It’s been awhile since Greinke went through his problems and I believe he’s figured out how to handle it.
If the Brewers do indeed Greinke, I think they’re going to get 2 top pitching and hitting prospects back, and they should. If they don’t get that value, there’s no reason to trade him right now. If you want to see who I believe the Brewers could get on the market, you’ll have to check back over the next few weeks as I continue to break down possibile trade scenarios for major players. MLB rumors is what makes this time of the year a ton of fun, and the Brewers are going to be right in the thick of it.
