Milwaukee Brewers Starting Lineup Against Toronto Blue Jays Series Finale

By Michael Terrill

The Milwaukee Brewers lost a back-and-forth game against the Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday night and are hoping to bounce back Wednesday afternoon in the series finale.

Every time Toronto got a lead, Milwaukee would turn the game in their favor and regain it. It seemed to be a full proof plan until closer John Axford blew another save in the ninth inning and eventually lost the game.

It is difficult to comprehend exactly what is happening to the Brewers this season, especially when there have been so many games they easily should have won. There is no doubt these are the games that will be put under the microscope if the Brewers are unable to break into the postseason.

The following is the Brewers starting lineup against the Blue Jays for Wednesday afternoon:

Center Field: Carlos Gomez
Right Field: Nyjer Morgan
Left Field: Ryan Braun
Third Base: Aramis Ramirez
Right Field: Corey Hart
Second Base: Rickie Weeks
Shortstop: Cody Ransom
Catcher: Martin Maldonado
Pitcher: Yovani Gallardo

Yovani Gallardo will get the start in the series finale. He is coming off of one of his best games of the season last Friday against the Minnesota Twins, in which he struck out seven batters and allowed three earned runs on eight hits in six innings pitched. He will need to be on his game as the Blue Jays have proven they can certainly hit with authority.

Carolos Gomez will be hitting in the lead-off spot as Norichika Aoki gets a much deserved day off. Gomez is coming off a 1-for-4 performance with two runs and an RBI. Aramis Ramirez looks to stay hot after he hit a monstrous grand slam, the 10th of his career and first as a member of the Brewers. Cody Ransom will get the start at shortstop after going 1-for-1 in a pinch hit appearance. Ransom is certainly someone the Brewers are counting on to get on base at the bottom of the order.
