Aroldis Chapman Does Somersaults To Celebrate Save

Aroldis Chapman of the Cincinnati Reds apparently is ready for the Summer Olympics. After nailing down a save against the Milwaukee Brewers, Chapman did two somersaults in celebration.

It was a fairly strange game as Bronson Arroyo had a no hitter going, but then he gave up three runs to tie the game.  The Reds took the lead back in the bottom of the eighth to set up Chapman and his flips.  That is actually a pretty cool thing to see after a game.  People say baseball players are not good athletes.  Aroldis Chapman laughs at that thought.

A lot of people will get mad about this celebration but I do not see why they would.  It is no different than pitcher screaming and pointing to the sky.  Just let the guy have his fun.  It seems the unwritten rules of baseball try to suck all the fun out of stuff.  If people make a big deal out of these gymnastics, then we know we have a problem.

Baseball should be encouraging stuff like this.  They are slowly losing their grip with a younger generation who is gravitating to more exciting sports.  If you have people doing stuff like this, it attracts attention.  I think too much could be overkill, but a little fun never hurt anyone.

Aroldis Chapman is having a great year, but this is probably his best moment.  If you can not enjoy this celebration, you should get your humor levels checked.
