Seattle Mariners Trade Brandon League To The Los Angeles Dodgers
Brandon League is one of those pitchers who has a ton of talent but he seems to frustrate everyone. The Seattle Mariners have decided to trade the pitcher to the Los Angeles Dodgers for prospects. The Dodgers have been very active in trades so this move should come as no surprise to anyone in the business
Brandon League started out as the closer for the Mariners but he had the habit of blowing too many saves. That is a quick way to get moved to a position that is not as important. He can strike people out but if he does not have his good stuff, he is not very good. I guess you can say that for a lot of pitchers, but League turns his bad stuff into a lot of runs for the other team.
With so many teams not selling due to the second Wild Card, a lot of teams are looking under the radar for more pitching. League was probably not the best bullpen arm available but he can eat up some innings and if he figures it all out, he can be a very good arm. You have to take the risk that he’ll figure it out but that might be worth it in the long run.
It has been quite the active deadline so far. There are still two days until the smoke clears so more moves are going to be coming down the pipe. If you want to make the playoffs, you better improve all you can right now.
