Milwaukee Brewers Lineup Against St. Louis Cardinals

By Michael Terrill

The Milwaukee Brewers will try to avoid being swept by the St. Louis Cardinals when the two division rivals clash on Sunday Night Baseball.

Milwaukee is coming off a disappointing 6-1 loss in which they were only able to muster five hits off the typically sound Adam Wainwright. To add salt to the wound, the Brewers were unable to get revenge on the Cardinals on a night in which St. Louis celebrated their 1982 World Series win, ironically against Milwaukee.

The following is the Brewers lineup against the Cardinals for Sunday night:

Right Field: Norichika Aoki
Center Field: Carlos Gomez
Left Field: Ryan Braun
Third Base: Aramis Ramirez
First Base: Corey Hart
Second Base: Rickie Weeks
Catcher: Jonathan Lucroy
Shortstop: Cody Ransom
Pitcher: Marco Estrada

Marco Estrada will try for his first win of the season in thirteen starts. Estrada looked like he was going to record his first win of the year in his last outing against the Houston Astros, but another infamous Milwaukee bullpen meltdown took care of that. Estrada will have to be at his best tonight if he wants to avoid going 0-5 on the season.

Aramis Ramirez will be back in the lineup for the first game of this series. He sat out the last two games with soreness in his left wrist but the Brewers are hoping a cortisone shot will take care of the pain. Milwaukee will also have Norichika Aoki back in the lineup, as they apparently will hold nothing back in preparation for a victory in front of a national audience.

Cody Ransom will play shortstop for the second consecutive night after being the most productive Brewer in last night’s game going 2-for-3. Milwaukee will need their big bats in the lineup to come alive if they want any chance of putting runs on the board against St. Louis ace Kyle Lohse.
