New York Mets Making Many Minor Moves

The New York Mets remained dormant at the trade deadline, however are continuing to make minor moves on many players with minor league deals.

Today the Mets have announced that they signed right-hander Andrew Carpenter to a minor league deal. The team optioned Carpenter to Double-A Binghamton. The deal coming after Carpenter elected to become a free agent after being designated for assignment by the Toronto Blue Jays.

On Sunday, the team also announced the signing of 33-year old right-hander Scott Patterson. The team optioned Patterson to Triple-A Buffalo. Patterson last pitched for the Padres in 2008.
