San Francisco Giants Look To Repeat The Sweep

By Parker Perry

The last time the San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies met, it was last weekend. It was all smiles for the good guys, as the Giants ran away with the series at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado.

The San Francisco Giants laid the wood on the Rockies every chance they had the last time around.

They scored their most runs in the game the first time they met in that series, as they 16 runs crossed the plate. In the game, they also won by the largest margin of the year in that game. The final being 16-4.

Two players really shined in their series. Angel Pagan and Buster Posey both really woke up their bats. In the first two games thy combined for more than ten hits between them.

It was the trio of Ryan Vogelsong, Madison Bumgarner and Tim Lincecum that was able to effectively shut down the less-than impressive Rockie offense and secure the sweep.

Lincecum is the only pitcher that will be taking the mound for a second time in the two series. In his time Sunday, he pitched six innings and gave up a single run.

Probable pitching for the upcoming series

Friday: Lincecum (6-11) vs. Tyler Chatwood (1-2)

Saturday: Matt Cain (10-5) vs. Drew Pomeranz (1-6)

Sunday: Barry Zito (9-8) vs. Alex White (2-6)
