New York Mets Weekly Notes 8/11/12

Chipper Jones Wakes Up on the Wrong Side of the Bed

Chipper Jones didn’t play in Friday night’s 4-0 win over the Mets because of a sore back. The reason for the sore back, his room at the Grand-Hyatt. Jones filed complaints against the New York City hotel regarding it’s poor air conditioning and springy bed mattress.

“If I was missing a couple of days a month due to back problems – all over the league including Atlanta – I would say I’m getting old, but I very seldom have back problems. It just seems whenever I am up here sometimes and don’t have a problem at all.”, said Jones.

Jason Bay

Need we write more, Jason Bay went 0-for-3 in Friday night’s loss and is hitting .152. Manager Terry Collins continues to insert Bay into the lineup against pitchers that he has only had success against. “It’s all about confidence, and his is down, so we have to work very hard to make sure he’s put in some situations where we can build that confidence back up.”, says Collins
