New York Yankees Manager Joe Girardi Blows Up At New York Post Reporter

New York Post reporter Joel Sherman has been covering the New York Yankees for the newspaper for awhile but I bet he did not expect what happened to him Saturday night.

After a tough loss to the Baltimore Orioles, Joe Girardi held his evening press conference and the manager was not happy. He was giving snippy answers to reporters allegedly. After the presser, Girardi called Sherman into his office and the two began a screaming match at each other. The two were held back by security.

The Yankees lost the game to the Orioles 5-4 after first baseman Mark Teixeira, on a gimpy leg, tried to make one last attempt to save the gave by diving into the first base. He was called out on a disputed call from Girardi.

It has been a tough couple of weeks for the Yankees and the skipper. The team is now locked in a huge battle for the American League East division crown and if they lose it, the team could be looking on the outside of the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

The Yankees are currently tied the Orioles after the loss but could re-gain the lead with a win against the team Sunday. After that, the Yankees have a much needed off day Monday followed by a trip to Fenway Park to face the Boston Red Sox, which is never easy no matter how poorly either team is doing.

Tension is boiling over and it looks like Giaradi may have hit his breaking point.
