NLCS Game 2 Prediction: St. Louis Cardinals Will Take a 2-0 Series Lead
The St. Louis Cardinals are in a great spot. Up in the series 1-0 and have their stud Chris Carpenter on the mound. They’re not exactly facing the best pitcher in baseball, and their offense is on top of it’s game so far this postseason. This is a very late prediction for the game, but I’m going with the St. Louis Cardinals winning 6-2 and heading back to St. Louis up 2-0.
What makes me think this? Well- it’s simple. Chris Carpenter. He’s been a dominant force throughout his career in the postseason and this one is no different. Yes I know- he’s been banged up this year- coming off surgery- blah blah blah. I don’t care. The guy knows how to pitch and the San Francisco Giants haven’t exactly been on fire offensively against good arms.
If this game gets deep with a Cardinals lead, it’s over because Jason Motte is pitching incredibly well right now. If the Giants want to make me look idiotic, they need to get to Carpenter early and often which is doable. They have some thunder like Buster Posey, Pablo Sandoval, and Hunter Pence, and it’s solely up to them to get the Giants back into this series.
So there you have it. My prediction is 6-2 Cardinals. Carpenter goes seven strong innings and Motte shuts the door in the 9th. Let’s see what happens as first pitch is only a few minutes away.
