After trading away 1/5 of their roster, it’s pretty obvious that the Miami Marlins are in full blowup mode, leaving only one asset left on their team. That asset is the most prodigious hitter in all of baseball, and will be the subject of several MLB rumors this winter: Giancarlo Stanton.
The talented 20-something will be a hot commodity for all teams, especially given the fact Stanton is not too pleased with the direction his current team is heading:
Alright, I’m pissed off!!! Plain & Simple

It’s pretty obvious a trade involving Stanton is inevitable at this point. There’s no point for Miami to sit on their best trade chip while they lose 105 games in the process. If Stanton is put on the trading block, I wouldn’t even know what type of package would be needed to acquire his mashing abilities.
The only way I could see a deal getting done is if Miami just wants to literally dump everyone of value for something. The odds of getting fair value for Stanton is slim to none, so the Marlins’ front office would just have to go all “Stinky the Grump” on a deal. If you don’t know who Stinky is, then that reference makes no sense to you. But that’s your problem, since that’s an epic reference.
If I had to throw a dart on a Stanton suitor, it would probably be the Texas Rangers. They have the farm, the need, and the park for him to flourish. And Stanton might be the only player worth either Profar or Olt.
Needless to say, Stanton rumors will heat up now more than ever.
