The 2013 MLB off-season is going to be a good one as there are a lot big name free agents that will be on the move and there will be a lot of money thrown at those e guys. There have already been two free agent signings and one huge trade to begin the off-season.

First, the Detroit Tigers landed outfielder Torii Hunter to a two-year, $26 million deal. Hunter, coming over from the Los Angeles Angels, will supply help to the Tigers’ outfield that lost Delmon Young to the free agent pool. Hunter spent the beginning of his career in the American League Central division with the Minnesota Twins.

Then, the Miami Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays agreed to a 12-player swap that is still under review by Major League Baseball. The deal will see Mark Buehrle, Jose Reyes and Josh Johnson among others head to the Blue Jays for Yunel Escobar among others. The deal is expected to be accepted by Bud Selig.

The Blue Jays were not done adding players to their team though. The organization and free agent outfielder Melky Cabrera agreed to a two year, $16 million deal Friday. Cabrera is coming off a 50-game PED suspension last season when he was with the San Francisco Giants

.

There are plenty more deals expected to get finished by the time the Winter Meetings come and go in December.
