20 MLB Players On Santa’s Naughty List
20 Players On Santa's Naughty List

With the holidays closing in, I wanted to take a look at who has been naughty in the MLB. At first, I went to Hanukkah Harry and asked if I could look at the list that he compiled. Then I remembered that Hanukkah is over and that Harry’s list is irrelevant at this point. So, I contacted Santa Claus and decided to look at his naughty list.
Well, Santa told me that he needed help to compile the list. I, of course, said yes because, who could say no to Santa? Santa and I worked day and night going through all the naughty players and managers in the MLB. It was tough.
After many deliberations with Santa, here is how he and I compiled the list of naughty players. We put players and manager who said dumb things and embarrassed themselves and their ball clubs. We decided to put players on the list that used PED’s. We also decided to add players who were arrested for driving under the influence. Last, we decided to add players who had bad years statistically.
I hope that the players will take a look at this list. I’m sure they can improve and can be nice again. Next year, if Santa wants my help with compiling a naughty list again, I don’t want to see the same players on this list.
With all that being said, I hope that everyone has a Happy Holidays and a safe New Year. Now, let’s take a look at the list that Santa and I compiled. Enjoy.
Do you have names you would like to add? Let me know, leave a comment and be sure to follow me on Twitter @EvanCrum1319
Matt Bush

Bush was very naughty and won’t be off the list anytime soon. Bush is a number one draft pick and hasn’t played a game in the MLB. Bush received his third DUI charge in 2012 and won’t be able to legally drive in Florida until 2026. His blood alcohol content when he was arrested was 0.18 and he even hit a 72 year old. Bush was sentenced to four years and three months in prison in Florida.
Alex Rodriguez

Rodriguez was naughty this year for a couple reasons. He played terribly in the postseason for the New York Yankees and was benched. While he was benched, Rodriguez decided to hit on female spectators. He even got some phone numbers. I’m sorry, but during a playoff game you should pay attention to the game and not the women in the stands.
Melky Cabrera

Cabrera was having a great year with the San Francisco Giants. He was even going to be up for a batting title. Then he was caught using a PED and subsequently suspended 50 games costing him the entire season. What’s even worse is that he designed a fake website and media campaign to avoid the suspension and dupe investigators.
Anibal Sanchez

Sanchez is on this list because of how he used the Chicago Cubs to get more money from the Detroit Tigers. Initially the Cubs offered him a five year $75 million deal. Sanchez then went back to the Tigers and they gave him $80 million.
Ozzie Guillen

When I looked at Santa’s naughty list Guillen's name was in permanent marker. I asked Santa why and Santa said that every year Guillen is on it. I know Guillen isn’t a player, but I felt bad if he wasn’t on the naughty list. This year, Guillen made dumb comments about how he loved Fidel Castro and how he respects him. The Miami Marlins then suspended him and subsequently fired him after the year was over.
Fernando Rodney

Yes, I know that Rodney had a great year. I know that he won Comeback Player of the Year but here is the reason he is on the naughty list. He does that stupid shooting an arrow into the sky whenever he records a save. Rodney is childish and naughty for doing it over and over.
Freddy Galvis

Galvis was named the starting second baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies. After injuring his knee, he was caught using PED’s and suspended 50 games.
Bartolo Colon

Colon was having a good year for the Oakland Athletics and helping a young pitching staff. Colon was then suspended 50 games for a PED. The Athletics are giving Colon a second chance and they signed him to a one year deal. Perhaps, next year he will be off of Santa’s naughty list.
Yasmani Grandal

Grandal is a young catcher that the San Diego Padres have high hopes for. Yet, he will have to start 2013 on the bench. He was suspended 50 games after testing for a high testosterone level.
Roger Clemens

Clemens is on the list for the media attention that was around him in 2012. After he was found not guilty of perjury he decided that he wanted to pitch again. Clemens signed with the Sugar Land Skeeters instead of just riding into the sunset. He then brought all the attention on himself.
Luke Scott

Scott is on the naughty list for not keeping his mouth shut. Scott honestly believes that President Obama wasn’t born in the United States. He said it publically in 2010 and has never refuted the comments. Here is exactly what Scott said about the President “I was born here. If someone accuses me of not being born here, I can go -- within 10 minutes -- to my filing cabinet and I can pick up my real birth certificate and I can go, 'See? Look! Here it is. Here it is.' The man has dodged everything. He dodges questions, he doesn't answer anything. And why? Because he's hiding something”
Ryan Dempster

Demspster is on this list because of what he did to the Cubs. The Cubs tried to trade Dempster to the Atlanta Braves for highly regarded prospect Randall Delgado. The trade started to leak on Twitter. Dempster then turned down the trade because he didn’t want to go to the Braves. Dempster said he loved playing for the Cubs and would do anything to help them. Instead he didn’t and only wanted to get his way. That makes him very naughty.
Bobby Jenks

Jenks was naughty for being arrested for a DUI, destruction of personal property, and leaving the scene of an accident. When police pulled Jenks he told the police that he took “muscle relaxers.” When police asked if he took anything else Jenks said the following “I was going to be honest with you, I was just leaving Babes (a nightclub) because I hit a car. I just had to get out of there." Jenks was released from the Boston Red Sox and his time in the MLB may be over.
