The Colorado Rockies have some work to do, but I don’t think their lineup is going to be a major problem as long as they stay healthy. Last year, they lost superstar sluggers Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez at various points of the year, and it was clear they weren’t going to compete without those two guys. Well, 2013 opening day is right around the corner, and Gonzalez and Tulowitzki are 100% healthy and ready to knock the ball around. I have a feeling this team is not going to have problem scoring runs, and I think they could certainly be a thorn in the side of everyone in the NL West.
Here’s a quick look at our projected lineup for the Colorado Rockies:
1) Dexter Fowler– CF
2) Todd Helton– 1B
3) Troy Tulowitzki– SS
4) Carlos Gonzalez– LF
5) Michael Cuddyer– RF
6) Willn Rosario– C
7) Chris Nelson– 3B
8) DJ LeMahleu– 2B
Nolan Arrenado is on the cusp of being a solid major league force; however, I don’t think he’s going to make the club out of spring training. They’re going to hold him back to delay his arbitration clock, but I do think he’ll be at Coors Field at some point in 2013.
This lineup certainly has the potential to be pretty dangerous, and it’s going to fall on the shoulders of the table-setter, Fowler. If he can get on base at a high rate, he could easily lead the league in runs scored. We’ll see what’s in store for this team, but scoring will not be their problem. Pitching, on the other hand…
