Top 15 MLB Hitting Prospects Ready To Break Out In 2013
As we dive into the 2013 season, the question that should be in some people's mind is who are the next set of MLB prospects that are going to breakout in 2013? After an electrifying year from Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Todd Frazier and Yoenis Cespedes, who is going to be the next breakout star?
In this list, you will see the breakdown of the top hitting prospects in the majors. You will see the usual suspects like Jurickson Profar and Wil Myers on the list but some of the rest may surprise you. These are the next breakout stars of the majors and everyone should take note of these 15 players. These players are not ones to mess with. They will hit, run, steal and score on you in a heart beat.
I hope everyone enjoys the slideshow and I encourage feedback. Who is not on the list that you would like to see? Who do you think is overrated? Let me know.
15). Jackie Bradley
This outfielder could easily break into the Boston Red Sox lineup this spring or early this summer. Bradley is getting high-recognition by some and we may see him soon.
14). Hak Ju-Lee
Hak Ju-Lee is the next great infielder in the Tampa Bay Rays organization. However, with the Rays acquiring Yunel Escobar during the offseason Ju-Lee may have to wait a little while longer before breaking into the majors.
13). Devin Mesoraco
Devin Mesoraco is the next catcher off the bench for the Cincinnati Reds. He is set to take the job from Ryan Hanigan and do not be surprised if he takes the job from Hanigan in spring training.
12). Nolan Arenado
Nolan Arenado is the best infielder in the Colorado Rockies' system. Arenado is still young but could come up early this season if the Rockies struggle.
11). Gary Brown
Gary Brown is a little-known prospect from the San Francisco Giants farm system. Brown is the best prospect in the team's organization and if one of its outfielders go down, he could get the call up.
10). Mike Olt
Mike Olt has been the center piece of a lot of trade talk, however, the Texas Rangers prospect is ready to overthrow someone in the infield or in the outfield in 2013.
9). Anthony Rendon
As if the Washington Nationals could use any more young players, they have another kid in Anthony Rendon ready to make a mark. However, he has Ryan Zimmerman standing in the way of his job. Rendon is poised to make a big dent in the majors soon.
7). Jonathan Singleton
The Houston Astros need Jonathan Singleton to start producing and fast. Singleton was suspended 50 games to start the season for a positive drug test. When he comes back, he will be a huge contributor.
6). Billy Hamilton
Billy Hamilton stole a lot of bases in the minors last season and he will be the next weapon to come out of the Reds' organization. Hamilton is just another threat to an already young Cincinnati team.
5). Chris Parmelee
I read somewhere that Chris Parmelee is the Minnesota Twins' Mike Trout. We will see as Parmelee will get a chance to be a starter this season.
4). Oscar Taveras
Taveras is the second-best outfield prospect in the majors. He is expected to do big things with the St. Louis Cardinals at some point this season.
2). Manny Machado
Machado made his debut with the Baltimore Orioles last season and made it onto the Orioles' playoff roster. Machado gets a chance to start at third base and help the O's get to the next level.
