The 2013 Major League Baseball season is just around the corner and that means that fans will get to see Miguel Cabrera head back to the diamond looking to match his Triple Crown year from 2012. That will be a hard task without any doubt whatsoever. If Cabrera can get it done again, I will be in shock, but I wouldn’t put it past him.
The biggest thing about last season’s effort from Cabrera is the ballpark he plays in. Comerica Park is not a place to hit tons of home runs at, I don’t think, and for Cabrera to win the home run title playing 81 games there is amazing. There will be a serious challenge in 2013 for MVP from Mike Trout, who would have won the award in any other year besides 2012. Can Cabrera do both things again? I just don’t see it going down again. While the Detroit Tigers will be even stronger in 2013 with Victor Martinez coming back, teams will still pitch around Cabrera a lot.
It was a fun year to see as a fan, without any doubt, but while Cabrera will probably put up great numbers again this coming season, it just won’t be the same as last season. Everything fell Cabrera’s way last season and those breaks don’t happen all the time. I really hope I’m wrong about this though because I enjoyed watching everything in 2012. It will definitely be a huge task for Cabrera to pull off but if anyone can do it, it is him.
