Can the Chicago White Sox Win the AL Central?

The argument can be made that no team was more of a disappointment towards the end of last season as the Chicago White Sox considering they seemed to have the AL Central locked up towards the end of the season before letting it slip away to the Detroit Tigers–who went on to represent the American League in the World Series.

It’s difficult for the White Sox not to look back and wonder what could have been in 2012 considering the amount of talent they have on their roster, but the only thing they can do is start looking forward to 2013. With the type of talent they had last season, there’s no question the White Sox should be one of the top teams in the American League once again and give the Tigers a shot at the division.

Of course, everybody knows that’s a lot easier said than done considering how talented Detroit’s roster is on paper. Even heading into the 2012 season, everybody expected the Tigers to be one of the top teams in the American League and despite some struggles throughout the regular season, they picked things up at the right time towards the end of the regular season when the White Sox went into a slump.

Taking the division from Detroit certainly won’t be easy, but there’s no reason why this Chicago team can’t come through and do so. Keep in mind how long they were on top of the division last season and they may be even more motivated this season to bounce back to compete for the AL Central.
