Los Angeles Angels Must Keep Eyes On Josh Hamilton

There was a major bidding war in Major League Baseball this offseason for the services of Josh Hamilton, who landed with the Los Angeles Angels. The Angels will have one of the most powerful lineups anywhere in MLB with Mike Trout and Albert Pujols around Hamilton. The team will be very hard to stop at least on offense but there is a worry to me about Hamilton. That is if Hamilton can keep himself out of trouble being in a big city like Los Angeles.

Hamilton has known problems with drinking and drug use. Those problems could easily be exploited being in Los Angeles which is much bigger than the Dallas area where the Texas Rangers are at. This had be something that was brought up to Hamilton when the team sat down with him. This team can be one that wins over 100 games but it has be with Hamilton in the lineup. The Angels fell on their face last season and didn’t miss the playoffs after signing Pujols and C.J. Wilson in the offseason.

The expectations are sky-high now after Arne Moreno put the money out to get Hamilton. He has to keep himself out of trouble and that may seem easier said than done though. It is going to be a battle that Hamilton faces for the rest of his life. Everyone knows Hamilton has the talent to be a MVP candidate every year. I just hope that this move isn’t the worst thing that could happen to Hamilton and he can focus on just baseball.
