A lot has been made of the starting five of the Washington Nationals and for good reason. They are sure to be one of the best rotations in all of Major League Baseball. But much like Stephen Strasburg receives a lot of attention while Clayton Kershaw displays constantly equal dominance, the Los Angeles Dodgers fly slightly under the radar with their top few starters.
Off-season acquisition Zack Greinke will join fellow veteran Josh Beckett, who was brought over in a trade last season to provide good solid innings. Greinke has always been a top pitcher and should prove to be one once again. Beckett seemed to enjoy his return to the National League after the trade last season as he posted an ERA under three in the handful of starts he made. Add Kershaw to the mix and this top three becomes easily one of the best in the game.
Kershaw will provide more than 200 innings. Greinke and Beckett should get to the 200 mark or close at least. When you look around both the American and National League, you will not find a better starting three than these guys. The spots after them might be a bit uncertain, but let’s just say that the rest of the National League is praying not to run up against these guys in a short series.
