Nick Swisher is Pumped to Play for Cleveland Indians
A great deal has changed during the off-season for the Cleveland Indians. Terry Francona coming over to manage changes so much about the attitude that they might as well wear new uniforms. One big addition on the field is that of Nick Swisher. After four years playing for the New York Yankees, Swisher brings his endless enthusiasm to his home state of Ohio. As with many players, opinions on Swisher differ from person to person. How good of an addition is he?
A great one! There is a video he created where he just talks about how excited he is about playing for the Indians. By the end of it, I was half way through ordering my fan gear to jump aboard the Indians bandwagon. It was so exciting that I think I might try to make the squad as a walk-on equipment guy just to feel better about life. The positive attitude Swisher brings to town will be infectious to say the least. Apparently he is that pumped up almost all the time. As long as it doesn’t irritate his teammates too bad when they are having a bad day, it will be a huge plus for the team.
On the field he is getting better with each season. At the age of thirty-one Swisher made the 2012 season one of his most productive to date. If the trend continues he’ll surpass the one-hundred runs batted in mark this year and keep going. Why he doesn’t get more credit for being a very good player and great personality is beyond me but the Indians will be better because of the excited addition of Swisher.
