World Baseball Classic is good for Baltimore Orioles’ Adam Jones
Team USA advanced in the World Baseball Classic with a win over Team Canada. Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones had a big part in that win. He has been hitting well and playing well without pushing himself too far during the WBC. The Orioles are a lucky batch to have someone that can flourish so well playing in the classic considering the risks involved.
His numbers haven’t been out of this world. The average he has right now is only .222. Still, the hitting he has done has been good clutch situational hitting. That is a great thing to get going early in the season. His legs are under him well and he’s moving well. The bat is working well for him. For someone who is not a big fan of the placement of the WBC, I must admit that it appears that it will be really good for Jones and thereby the Orioles.
As Jones and USA advance further in the tournament the Orioles should enjoy watching their star outfielder hone his craft before the season begins. For Jones to come back from the WBC ready for the season and itching to go play ball will be all good for them. They might need to sit him for a game or two when he gets back just to let his adrenaline die down if Team USA goes all the way. Either way, Jones said he would be ready for the Classic and it appears he was right.
