R.A. Dickey Will Be Successful For Toronto Blue Jays
The name R.A. Dickey brings up a lot of different feelings for fans throughout MLB. There are a lot of fans who remember Dickey as the pitcher who got shelled for the early part of his career. Those fans and many others are seeing a much different Dickey these days now that he has fully discovered his knuckleball.
Dickey won 20 games and the National League Cy Young award with the New York Mets last season and even with a move to the Toronto Blue Jays this season, Dickey could be in for similar numbers in 2013.
The righty has been a much better pitcher over the past three seasons and after throwing over 233 innings last season, is proving how good he can really be. There is obviously a difference between the National League East and the American League East, but I think Dickey is going to have great success inside the dome because throwing a different pitch than anyone else will confuse hitters.
Dickey could have another season where he wins between 15 and 18 games for Toronto and an ERA that is around 2.85. Toronto has made a lot of moves that should make the team competitive for the 2013 season, and there is real hope for the Blue Jays to win their first title in 20 years. Fans should be watching to see if Dickey can do what he did in 2012 again.
