Jose Fernandez is the most exciting thing to happen to the Miami Marlins since all of the fans really thought the owner was going to bring them a quick championship along with the new stadium. Now, the only time more than a few thousand show up is when this young man is pitching. He is certainly worth the attention as not only a promising pitcher but an exciting player all around.

Fernandez might get the chance for his first major league win when he actually faces a Cincinnati Reds pitcher that has less major league experience than he does. Tony Cingrani was recalled from Triple-A to take the place of Reds ace starter Johnny Cueto. It is a real shame that a pitcher as special as Cueto has to miss some time but for Fernandez and the Marlins, it might be just what the doctor ordered.

It looks and seems as if the Marlins offense might be finally waking up a little bit. If they do and can get some runs off of the rookie Reds pitcher, they could help Fernandez earn his first big league win. It is also possible that there could be a pitching duel between two guys that were near unknowns at the start of the season. As good as it would be to see Fernandez get his first win in blowout fashion; it would be pretty darn cool to watch him in a stern pitcher’s duel.
